Nanbu Bijin Brewery of Iwate prefecture got a gold prize at National New Sake Award (sorry only Japanese) awarded by National Research Institute of Brewing. They’ve got a gold prize this last 5 years continuously! Amazing!

This great news made me cry. The person in the photo is Mr. Matsumori, the head sake brewer Toji of Nanbu Bijin brewery. He would have been under huge pressure after he took over Toji work from legendary former Toji Mr. Yamaguchi who passed away 2008.

I believe they will get another gold prize next year as well!! Congratulations Nanbu Bijin!!!
